Dimensions Jodi works within are most often created within are squares or circles, not only because the particular geometry infuses the work with a sense of wholeness, but also because it is ready made to evolve into album art. Without the need to crop to a square from a rectangular original, it maintains the position throughout its creation of being a more intentional, considered composition from its beginnings, all the way to the ultimate destination, to represent a musical record. Currently, many unclaimed, immediately available square collage works ready-made, just waiting to be snatched up, for just that!

Jodi can express visually what a piece or an album of music sounds like. As a devoted and tenacious appreciator of music, the magnetic resonance and friendship appreciated with musicians has always inspired, informed, and directed the trajectory of both her life and visual artwork. In the past, she has spent years on tour, up and down the West coast, at festivals with various bands, in buses, tents, and hotel rooms. Being on the road allowed her time to explore her own art, to write, plan, and further her enthusiasm for live musical performance, amongst other interests. Luckily, Jodi has seen and heard countless concerts from the spacious, unobstructed view of the side stage.
Now, as a parent, she is bound to a more tame lifestyle in Minneapolis, but she is at home within the musical community there. She continues seeing shows frequently, having a particular passion for supporting her local music community. Being in the studio pursuing her own ideas in solitude is wonderful, but that alone pales in comparison to also having thrilling opportunities to collaborate with other interesting creators. Making a substantial contribution in a mutually loved project is rewarding in a different way. For Jodi, it is being a part of something greater than ones own self to diligently pursue this direction with her work. Developing the music related aspect of Jodi's visual art practice marries her most profound interests in a significant and genuine way. There is much satisfaction to be found in the actualizing of visual representations for albums or concerts across genres. The promise of building amplified, meaningful connections created in this process, and being a contributor to musical projects is equally substantial and natural for Jodi. She has demonstrated consistent devotion to the intersections where her interests reside and community prevails in her visual art.
